The FEMA project is moving ahead on schedule. On Tuesday, RE Smith will begin setting the walls of our new FEMA Community Safe Room/Multi-Purpose Facility. The students and faculty will be moved away from the area during the time these wall are set for safety precautions. We have relocated to other classrooms for this short period of time. The Billings Board of Education voted on January 11, 2017, to move forward with the concept

On March 15, 2017, the Billings School District began Phase II of the FEMA Safe Room Project. Construction Plans for the Billings R-IV Safe Room Project have been submitted to SEMA, and after review the district has been authorized to proceed with the second phase. We will be excited to see progress on site soon!
On Tuesday, June 20, 2017, the Billings Board of Education voted to accept the bid from R. E. Smith, for the construction of the FEMA-361 Community Safe Room. The date of commencement is set for July 5, 2017. The school will be announcing a date for a Ground Breaking Ceremony very soon. The substantial completion date for the project is set for January 31, 2018. Thank you again to our patrons for your support through this grant process.
FEMA update-We are in Phase I, Design Phase until March 26th. Phase II, Construction Phase will follow in April. We will have more information to post as the design phase is completed. Thank you again for your support!
